To address the spam problems we have installed a spam filter which uses a blacklist of banned domains for use in external links. In addition to the domains listed on that page, there are some 1249 more listed in a file which is periodically updated from the Meta wiki [1]. Additionally, Cameron has modified the spam filter to deny the creation or editing of wiki pages which contain over 50 external links (links starting with http://). You can have as many internal links as you want, just no more than 50 external links. If you want to create a page with a whole slew of links, let Cameron know and he can bump up the limit. This should keep out spammers who load pages up with 500+ links to some strange drug/porn sites. Sadly, all of these measures cannot entirely stop wikispam. So, we ask that if you discover wiki spam, please remove it and notify Cameron or Ingbert and we'll update the blacklist. Also if the spam filter is too restrictive, please let Cameron know and he can look into it.

(Also, some of this is going to change slightly after upgrading to MediaWiki 1.5.4)
