[edit] Why Cats?
Why are cats so prevalent at GSLIS? And what do people find so attractive about having cats?
Well, there's always the stereotype of librarians and cats... But I think it has more to do with the fact that cats can be left alone without much supervision, for a weekend, or whatever. Much easier for a busy Grad student to manage.--jdm 14:45, 5 March 2006 (MST)
"We have an internal hunger and curiosity. That may explain why cats are such popular pets among librarians."--Lionelle Elsesser, GSLIS Commencement address, 14 May 2006.
[edit] CatSnap?
I've read about a program called CatSnap which is run by a librarian in the C-U area. Has she helped spread the cat culture at GSLIS? I'll be visiting CatSnap for a new friend once I'm moved and settled in somewhere. -- tracy
