[edit] Temporary Links
It's from the NYT, so I'm not sure how long it will be freely available, but here's a link that has a graphical representation of a bunch of statistics on class (economic class, mostly). I've already spent an hour playing with it.

[edit] Shortening Long URLs in Emails
Justa quick word to those of you posting really long URL's in email (which is all of us)
Check out:
TinyURL's self-promotion:
Are you sick of posting URLs in emails only to have it break when sent causing the recipient to have to cut and paste it back together? Then you've come to the right place. By entering in a URL in the text field below, we will create a tiny URL that will not break in email postings and never expires.

[edit] Answering Questions
[edit] Wondir
Wondir is an interesting new service that's like Google Answers without the experts: anyone can login and post any question. In addition to the system scraping various likely sources for answers the question, it's also put on a ticker for other Wondir users to reply to as best as they can (there's also a ratings system for users and their answers). The user-base is fairly thin at the moment, so the answers aren't always fast or terrific, but the ticker is great.
(The ticker is cracking me up! If you thought questions at the reference desk were funny.....-ES)
[edit] Furl
People have found furl to be extremely useful for keeping lists of bookmarks, and sharing them with others.

Since the Amazon API is so extensive, lots of people have been playing with creating new ways of searching through Amazon's catalog. Here are some people have liked.
