A favorite of many GSLISers. Disliked by many other GSLISers. Good microbrew and import beer selection. Expensive drinks. The average beer is about $3.50. Excellent food (All beef is Angus). Pool tables dominate the bar area. They cost $6.00/hr to rent, I think. Upstairs section.

My personal opinion about Crane Alley. Pretty good food, pretty good selection of drinks. Horrible, horrible service every time I've went there. Typical behavior I've experience has been a waiter coming to take orders at the table next to ours and yet, even though we've been there close to thirty minutes more than the other table, not even coming over and taking our order. Perhaps they've hired new people, but I wouldn't count on it. Expect to have to chase down a waiter or wait a significant period of time at an empty bar. Again, it is popular with a lot of people.

Several GSLISers (myself included) went to Crane Alley a couple weeks ago, and had an excellent time. The poor service issues were not apparent--our waiter was exceedingly nice, attentive, and knowledgeable when put to the test in helping us navigate the wine/drink list. Food was great. Recommended.

We visited Crane Alley for last week! Not the greatest food, and it was a bit on the expensive side too. But the ambience was good and the service was pretty fast (we were in the upper section). -- Anand, 05/14/2006
