Dan is interested in applications of information and coding theory to evolutionary biology, and in the semiotics of early biochemical systems.

Dan works in ISRL (room 350) on the bioinformatics degree program grant. That will soon change, though, as in the fall he'll start working for the Luthey-Schulten group at UIUC Chemistry on stuff that's more closely aligned with his current research interests.

He even has a web site now! He finds it funny that it's taken this long...
