A term of endearment, "Dawdling Documentalists" was a specifically applied to Dave Dubin and Allen Renear because they tend to arrive late to Friday Symposium. J. Stephen Downie coined the term. The real reason Dave Dubin and Allen Renear arrive late is not that they are dawdling folk, but that they are attending the Research Writing Group meetings which meet on Fridays, from 4PM to whenever the conversation ends. The conversation rarely ends at 5PM, and Downie cannot wait that long. For complete symposium pleasure, I recommend you attend both intellectually stimulating events, Research Writing Group and Friday Symposium -- a great way to prepare for a weekend of enjoyable work.
