Cameron's been talking about putting up some blogging software on gslis.org for students to use. While I think this is a good and interesting idea, I personally like the way the Wiki works more than I like how the blog works. Therefore, I'm putting up this page as an experimental alternative to people having their own blog. I'm not sure how effective it will be, or if people will want to use the Wiki in this manner, but I figure I'll throw it against the wall and see if it sticks.
The way I envision these essays to work (and which is open to reconceptualization by others who want them to work in a different manner), is to create pages entitled "Essay:Importance of Education", and then each person who wants to contribute on the topic will create their own section within the Essay to talk about what they want. In some ways, it is a manner of creating a collaborative blog, and making the opinions expressed within more readily searchable since it is already organized by topic.
Let me know what you think, or if I need to explain this idea in more depth.
