A Brief Introduction to Help New Users Get Started

Getting Started: Browsing the Wiki

• The simplest way to browse through the wiki is to start clicking on links and seeing where they take you.
• If you want a sampling of the kinds of pages that have been contributed so far, simply keep clicking on the "Random page" link in the menu on the left hand side of the screen.
• If you want to look up something in particular, try typing it into the search box.
• If you are looking for all the different types of things try using the Categories page.

Adding Content

If you want to edit a page, simply click the "edit" tab at the top of the window.

There are two ways to create a new page:

1. Click the "edit" tab in an existing page, and create a new link: [[New Wiki Article Name]]
   • Notice how the new article name can have spaces in it.
2. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the screen.
3. When the page redisplays, click the new link (it will be in in red if the page does not already exist).
   • You will automatically be directed to an empty edit window, and you can begin adding content.

or

1. When you are viewing an article, click on the URL in your browser, delete the name of the article you are viewing, type in a new name, and hit enter.
   • Note: All spaces must be replaced by underscores when creating a new article in this manner.
2. Click on the "edit" tab to begin adding content to the new page.
