Smith, Linda C.

Prof/Assoc Dean for Academic Programs

Location: 112E LIS

Linda Smith is well respected. She is an expert in almost every topic in Library and Information Science, locally and internationally.

Along with Betsy Hearne, she is one of the kindest and most supportive people in the department, willing to help nearly any student with his or her research in whatever way she can.

Within GSLIS, she is famous for the speed at which she returns emails, no matter when they are sent to her.

Her example of always being there for students when they need her help serves to encourage other professors in the department to be more attentive to their students' needs.

It is part of LEEP lore that her voice has the ability to calm otherwise manic cats.

Linda is a role model to the people around her. It is rumored that several GSLIS professors, when faced with a challenging judgement call, actually stop and consider what Linda Smith would do in the situation.

Linda has a Gina Number of 1.
