Research Writing Group
From GSLISWiki
"a nurturing environment where GSLIS students, staff, and faculty can take their works-in-progress for feedback and constructive criticism from each other."
The GSLIS Research Writing Group meets Fridays from 4 until 5 PM in one of the GSLIS conference rooms. Each week participants offer constructive feedback and criticism on a writing project, such as an article for publication, or a research proposal description. All GSLIS faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate, and to contribute papers for discussion. Papers can be at any stage, from outline to nearly finished draft.
Announcements and links to papers under discussion are routinely sent to the following email groups :
- Information Science Research Lab members
- GSLIS Faculty
- GSLIS PhD Students
If you're not on one of those lists, and wish to receive the Writing Group announcements, contact Dave Dubin http://www.lis.uiuc.edu/~dubin/contact.html
[edit] Warning
Research Writing Group is fascinating. But if you hang out with these truly enlightened people, you run the risk of being classified as a Dawdling Documentalist.
