Storytelling is the art of telling stories to entertain, educate, and communicate with an audience.
Betsy Hearne is the faculty member who normally teaches the Storytelling Class (LIS 409).

Storytelling is taught in GSLIS because it is a vital skill for all Children's Librarians to have, since storytelling sessions are one of the activities that attract the largest number of patrons to most libraries.
However, the value of storytelling is not limited to children.
