Symposium
From GSLISWiki
Symposium is designed to provide a place for people in GSLIS to get to know each other better, to help the department form a sense of community, to provide a forum for good conversation, and to have an informal venue for debating departmental issues. It is modeled, in part, after the English Pub phenomena.
[edit] pl. Symposia
The official beginning of the weekend, Friday Symposium is a weekly GSLIS event not to be missed. The ringleader, J. Stephen Downie, sends out the official email call to attend, or asks his trusty PhD student, Ingbert Floyd, to do it for him. Somewhere in the message is a darn good list of excuses for why you should attend. Symposium usually begins around 5:30PM. Brothers on Green Street is the normal hangout.
People who don't drink could come as well because juice is said to be free.
Soda is also free. =D
[edit] DocD's Official Symposia Motos
"Be there or be someplace else."
"All are always welcomed."
Come along and find out why "Dauntless DocD decries: Dastardly dawdling documentalists do dash!"
(This is not directly related to Drinking gslis, but from the very beginning, there have been instances of cross-fertilization.)
