[edit] Why Cats?
Why are cats so prevalent at GSLIS? And what do people find so attractive about having cats?
What I don't understand, is how so many women in the department have cats which they call their "children", why not just have children? I mean, partnered or not, it is not that hard for a woman to find a guy who is willing to father a child. -Ingbert
is that a solicitation for sex Ingbert? -Cameron
"Some of us think of our cats as children because we don't like human children. I'm married and could have a child IF I WANTED TO, but I don't. So there."
See, that's what I don't understand. Despite Cameron's mind-in-gutter interperetation of my remark, I really don't understand why people would consciously choose not to have children; how they could not like them. I miss my son so much, and I'd love to have a house full of kids. And Cameron, most lesbian couples I have known or heard about who wanted children but were adverse to paying a sperm bank, simply had a respected/trusted friend donate some of his seed in the bathroom, and then taken it to the bedroom where one mom administered it to the other mom, while the friend went home. So, no, it's not a solicitation for sex. And no, in response to your inevitable rejoinder, I am not trying to volunteer my seed. -Ingbert
