When puzzling around with a design challenge it can help to fiddle around with different things for inspiration. In real physical design, this can be truly inspirational, exploiting the way taht as humans we exploit tangibility to aid our thinking.

  • Artists keep photos, postcards and magazine cutouts.
  • Dressmakers keep fabric swatches.
  • What is the computational equivalent of the toybox, the garden shed, the needlework bag?
